Harley Davidson With Its 11 Bikes Came In India 1999: Until 2010, India Harley-Davidson was seen in Hollywood movies and for Indian bikes, lovers owing one was a dream. With the endeavor of our then the minister for industry and commerce Mr. Kamal Nath and United States Trade Representative Susan Schwab, the most lovable and expensive bike internationally made its way to India. In spite of some controversy over pollution emission and tariff, the Harley-Davidson started its operation in India in the year 2009.
Gurgaon was the first city where the dealership of Harley-Davidson was opened. Later the dealership started in other cities and presently the bike manufacturing company has 15 dealerships across India. Bawal is the manufacturing plant of Harley-Davidson bikes and it is the only manufacturing unit of the company outside the United States.
The United State based motor bike company wanted to get into Indian market many years ago. But, the emission and tariff was the two constrains. However, the zeal of bike lovers of India made them to turn toward India removing all the hiccups. The motor bike company came in India with its eleven models from six different platforms. In the year 2014, Harley-Davidson started the manufacturing of the Street model in India itself. After its manufacturing, the motorbike company started the export of these bikes in Europe as well as other Asian countries from India itself.
