The real name of Rajinikanth is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, born on 12th December 1950 in Bengaluru, Mysore. He is the highest-paid actor of India. In addition to acting, he is also a producer, screenplay writer and philanthropist. The path of success was not easy for Rajinikanth. He was a ticket collector in Bengaluru Transport Service but something else was destined for him. As soon as he got the chance to act in films, he grabbed the opportunity and acted in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, English and Malayalam films. However, even after huge success in cinema, he remained a humble and down-to-earth person.
Rajinikanth Family:
Blessed with a charismatic personality, this 5 feet 8 inches tall actor was born in a Kshatriya Brahmin family but his grandparents were Tamilians. His father Ramojirao Gaekwaad worked in Police as a constable and his mother jijabai was a homemaker. His mother passed away when he was just 8 years old and from then he brought up by his elder brothers and father. He fell in love with Latha Parthsarthy and got married on 26 February 1981 in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh. His wife gave birth to two daughters Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Soundarya Rajinikanth. If believed to the rumors, Rajini was in a relationship with Silk Smitha.
Career:
Rajinikanth started his schooling from Acharya Pathshala located in Basanavagudi Bengaluru and Vivekananda Balaka Sangha School. Before entering into the field of acting, Rajini did all the odd jobs such as carpentry, a Coolie, bus conductor, etc. Later a friend, Raj Bahadur funded him with the money to join Madras Film Institute. By chance, there he met director K Balachander who offered him his first role in the Tamil film. Previously he was not good enough in speaking Tamil but with time, he attained fluency.
In 1975, he made his debut in acting with the film Apoorva Raagangal along with Kamal Haasan.
In the initial two years of his career say 1975-1977, he played the negative shades in movies. In 1980 he did movies such as Chilakamma Cheppinidi and Billa which became commercially hit.
In the movie Raghavendra Swami, he played the role of a Saint. This movie was released in 1988 and in the same year, he also did the Indo-American action-adventure film with the title Bloodstone.
He worked in first animated movie of Tamil with the title Raaja Chinna Roja in 1989.
In 1991, he was seen in the movie Thalapathy which was released with U/A certificate. He also acted in Ethiran based on Science fiction.
In 2012, the most influential film fall into baggage. The movie was Ra. One in which he worked with Bollywood super star Shahrukh Khan. The heroine of the movie was Meena whith which he happened to work as a child artist in his prior movies.
