Volkswagen came to India with its brand Skoda in year 2001. Later Audi and Volkswagen came in. It took six years to them to come into India. Today, Volkswagen Group operates in India with its five brands Audi, Porsche, SKODA, Lamborghini and Volkswagen. The Volkswagen Group India is a part of Volkswagen AG. Volkswagen started with high-end cars in India and its focus was on to sell luxury cars, Volkswagen was not the name among middle-class group. In year 2009, Volkswagen group brought it’s much awaited mid segment car in the Indian market, Polo and Vento. After the launch of these two cars Volkswagen made its way to India’s main car market i.e. middle class.

And in the process, it has invested 3,800 crore for its project in India. This is the biggest investment ever made by any German company in the Indian market so far.

Awarded cars produced by Volkswagen are Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen GTI, New Bettle, Passat, Golf Line-up, UP and Touareg. All these models have been awarded at various occasions in different-different categories.
